This is our last program of the year and it is an important and crucial topic to attend.
Shelby’s journey began from a place of personal experience, having witnessed the destructive impact of substance use and mental illness on the lives of herself and her loved ones.
This exposure ignited in her a deep-seated passion to bring deeper integrity and kindness into the mental health industry. Her work is driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care that addresses individual needs and bridges gaps for families in Colorado.
Her background is in residential treatment management and personal development leadership. Her focus is on practical and immediate care for the people who need it most.
Shelby will offer practical and immediately usable insights on the support that can be provided to teens of divorce. The discussion will outline the continuum of care and how to recommend different therapeutic supports to different families. We will discuss how therapy can help or harm children of divorce and how to best support a teen who is already struggling. We will discuss a range of different adolescent challenges, from substance experimentation to self-harm, and how divorce can affect those children differently.
